65 Year-Old History Professor Found Unconscious On Side Of Road Dies At Hospital After Bicycle Accident.

While many people associate bicycles with joy and happiness, that is not always the case, especially if you happen to be involved in an accident. Bicycle accidents can result in serious and life-long personal injuries and sometimes even death. While some cities are encouraging the use of bicycling as a method of transportation, there are serious risks involved, especially in densely populated areas. If you are involved in a bicycle accident and have suffered an injury, you may be entitled to monetary compensation. The expert bicycle accident attorneys at the Law Offices of Gilbert R. Hoy, Jr. and Affiliates have decades of experience helping our Massachusetts clients recover all of their damages.

Eugene Cruz-Uribe, 65 years-old, was a history professor and the husband of Indiana University East Chancellor Kathryn Cruz-Uribe. He died Monday at the Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mr Cruz-Uribe had been flown there by LifeLine medical helicopter after a passer-by found him unconscious on the side of the road with his bicycle.

Sheriff’s Deputy Randy Retter said an autopsy was completed the next day as part of the forensic investigation, but a complete report has not been finished. Deputy Retter stated they have not been able to locate any witnesses and are still looking for any clues. The passer-by who found Cruz-Uribe after 6:30 a.m. Monday did not see the bicycle accident.

Florida Teenager Riding His Bike Without A Helmet Is Struck By Truck.

Far too often, bicyclists and drivers take for granted the dangers associated with riding a bike on a busy public road.  When either a bicycle rider or a driver are not paying attention, they both have the ability to swerve and either enter the bike lane or the travel lane for vehicle resulting in an accident. If you are unfortunate enough to be in an accident between a bike and vehicle which causes you to be injured, you may be entitled to compensation equal to the amount of your pain and suffering and other damages. Victims of bicycle accidents should rely on an experienced bicycle accident personal injury attorney at the Law Offices of Gilbert R. A Collier County, Florida teenager was seriously injured when a car struck him early Monday morning while he was riding his bicycle across U.S. 41 in East Naples, Florida, according to state troopers. Vu Tran, 14 years-old, was crossing U.S. 41 eastbound at the intersection of Whistler Cove Boulevard at 6:36 a.m. At the same time, Benito Prado, 50 years-old, of Collier, who was driving a 2011 Ford F-150 south on U.S. 41, was passing through the intersection with Whistler Cove Boulevard on a green traffic light.

Mr. Tran allegedly crossed in front of the path of Mr. Prado, who was in the inside lane of southbound U.S. 41, causing the car’s front to strike the left side of the bicycle. Mr. Tran, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to the NCH Baker Hospital Downtown with serious injuries. Mr. Prado suffered minor injuries and was also taken to the downtown hospital. At the time of the accident, troopers did not believe alcohol was a factor, but the crash is still under investigation.
