While many people associate bicycles with joy and happiness, that is not always the case, especially if you happen to be involved in an accident. Bicycle accidents can result in serious and life-long personal injuries and sometimes even death. While some cities are encouraging the use of bicycling as a method of transportation, there are serious risks involved, especially in densely populated areas. If you are involved in a bicycle accident and have suffered an injury, you may be entitled to monetary compensation. The expert bicycle accident attorneys at the Law Offices of Gilbert R. Hoy, Jr. and Affiliates have decades of experience helping our Massachusetts clients recover all of their damages.
Eugene Cruz-Uribe, 65 years-old, was a history professor and the husband of Indiana University East Chancellor Kathryn Cruz-Uribe. He died Monday at the Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mr Cruz-Uribe had been flown there by LifeLine medical helicopter after a passer-by found him unconscious on the side of the road with his bicycle.
Sheriff’s Deputy Randy Retter said an autopsy was completed the next day as part of the forensic investigation, but a complete report has not been finished. Deputy Retter stated they have not been able to locate any witnesses and are still looking for any clues. The passer-by who found Cruz-Uribe after 6:30 a.m. Monday did not see the bicycle accident.
